January 11th, over 500 people from around the globe gathered in the midst of drizzling rain in the Emmaus Biblical Seminary library to dedicate the new campus to the Lord. Students, directors and supporters from many years past and present joined together to worship the Lord, share testimonies of His faithfulness and to deliberately dedicate the future of Emmaus Biblical Seminary, it's students and staff to the Lord. Little did anyone know that the very next day, Emmaus would indeed face a new day in Haiti with the earthquakes. Here are some pictures from this precious and joyful time, and of the first few days of class:

JANUARY 11TH HAS BEEN SET AS THE
EBS Campus
The current EBS campus has been in use since the 1960's. Thousands of students and hundreds of classes later, the buildings are crumbling.
Several ceilings have fallen in in the past few years, and many of the classrooms flood during each rain. Our student body has outgrown the dorms, which are in even worse shape than the classroom buildings.

New EBS Campus
However, in 2006, with the help of the Lord, supporters world-wide and dozens of visiting construction teams, OMS Haiti began building a new Emmaus Biblical Seminary.
Emmaus hopes to move into its new home the summer of 2009. This new campus is located in Sachenville, a community 5 miles from the current EBS.
The new site will host a two-story men's dormitory, a women's dormitory, a cafeteria, an administrative and classroom building, a library, several missionary homes, a generator house and a chapel in the center. Every building and resident on the campus will be dedicated full-time to the training of pastors to take the Good News throughout Haiti!
It will have the capacity to hold over 70 students.
